Pops Confusion? Maybe Not
Interesting issues to do with the signing by DKV
Joventut of Pops Mensah-Bonsu. As we originally reported below, he has signed subject to not being handed an NBA contract which is where some confusion may be occurring. POPS FOR LA PENYA
First Robert Archibald, now Pops Mensah Bonsu as badaball brings you news first of where the biggest stars in British Basketball wil be playing next season. With our finger firmly on the ACB pulse, we can reveal that Pops has signed a pre NBA contract with DKV Joventut. That means he will be in Badalona next season unless he gets himself an NBA contract which he must present to Penya club officials before 22 July. If it pans out, Pops will become the fourth player in the current GB squad to play for the Catalans. That brings up another number 4 with confirmed GB players in ACB next year. We would like to get an interview with Pops but apparently GB stars wll only talk to certain websites... We look forward to maybe hearing from Pops on the excellent Basketball 24/7 soon... where you can find some of the best coverage of UK and Euro ball anywhere.!
